An architectural study in openness and horizon, The Glass House occupies a rare stretch of Broad Beach. Sliding walls dissolve the boundary between a calm, tactile interior and the Pacific beyond.
The plan is deliberately simple. A single volume, thirty metres long, holds the great room, kitchen and dining under one continuous ceiling of white oak. On the ocean side there is no wall at all — twelve panels of structural glazing retract into concealed pockets, leaving the room open to the deck and the sand below.
Four bedroom suites sit on the upper level, each with its own terrace. The principal suite runs the full width of the house and has a bathing room finished in a single quarry-run of Calacatta Viola. A separate wellness studio, media room and four-car garage are set into the hillside behind.
The property carries direct, private beach access — twenty-two feet of frontage with a permitted stair — which on this stretch of coast is the scarcest asset of all.
